ive jailbroken my ipod recently like a week before ios 6 was released so i figured i wouldnt get it and just stick to 5.1 or whatever for awhile and my ipod battery died and the cydia and internet got all screwed so i googled it and i have to reboot. so im here trying to reboot and it says “Unable to recognize specific IPSW ipod 4,1_4.2.1″ what must i do now?

I jailbroke my iPhone with Blackra1n and installed Winterboard on it. But every time I turn it off and turn it on again, it enters recovery mode and I have to re-jailbreak or restore it. How can I stop this? It’s like it’s tethered, but I don’t want to turn on my phone, turn on the computer, take a second to re-jailbreak and then turn my computer off. It’s too much hassle.
So how can I fix this?

it’s very ugly if you’re iphone’s background is black..i’m planning to install winterboard by myself…and the fact that i’m still young to know this everything. i’m afraid in the word rebooting…because i think this will make my iphone be jailbreak again and i don’t want to waste money and my father will gonna kill me if i do this without asking him…..thank you.
and my iphone is already jailbroke….

esto es para los que se les queda el redsn0w congelado o atascado y no hace el reboot y solo nos deja esperando y no pasa bueno esto lo hice por que en mi caso ami me paso y espero y les sirva tambien a ustedes…. 1.-update your iPhone or iPod from iTunes 2.-Locating the IPSW file at the following address C: \ Users \ (you user) \ AppData \ Roaming \ Apple Computer \ iTunes \ iPod Software Updates 3.-Copy or drag to your desktop 4.-download the version of Redsn0w to jailbreak 5.-Now follow all instructions to make the jailbreas and ready!

After I did the jailbreak process i then rebooted it. After everything else is done, it says “done” on redsn0w when the process on redsn0w is finished. But on my iPod it just shows a dimmed black screen and stays like that forever! Help!!! I need to install Cydia!! Lol

Waiting patiently for a jailbreak for IOS 6 to release unless I missed it. I havent seen one for 4S and the ones I have seen require too much work to maintain the jailbreak. Anyone know of something i might have missed? Does Absinthe have anything? If I just update to IOS6 will I lose my installous goodies?
